Indian Rice

Ingredients:
1 cup of basmati rice
¼ spoon of ground turmeric
1 cinnamon stick
5 pieces of cloves
4 peppercorns
5 cardamom pods
1 pinch of salt
1 garlic clove finely chopped
1/3 piece of a white onion finely chopped
1 oz. oil
Procedure:
Rinse rice well, until water runs clear. In a pan sauté onion and garlic in the oil over a medium heat.
Add rice and stir, then add 1 ½ cup of boiling water, cardamom, salt, pepper, cloves and turmeric. Cover the pan and cook for approx. 12 minutes over a low heat. Fluff the rice and serve. A very aromatic rice dish.
